Called the Stone of Courage and the Stone of Truth, Amazonite empowers one to search the self and discover one’s own truths and integrity, and to move beyond fear of judgment or confrontation with others to live in alignment with those beliefs and values. It provides the freedom to express one’s thoughts and feelings, and to set strong and clear boundaries, both internally as self-discipline, and externally on what one is willing to experience or in defining personal space. Amazonite assists in communicating one’s true thoughts and feelings without over-emotionalism. It also enables one to see a problem from another’s point of view in order to affect peace, or to see both sides of an issue objectively to resolve one’s own inner conflicts. As a support stone, Amazonite aids in overcoming loneliness, and has been credited with making married life happier. Amazonite is a good luck stone for games of chance, competitions and luck in any financial venture.
Pearls are the June birthstone. Pearls, according to South Asian mythology, were dewdrops from heaven that fell into the sea. They were caught by shellfish under the first rays of the rising sun, during a period of full moon. Pearls have been known for their healing properties for centuries, particularly in traditional Asian medical systems. Pearls are said to give the wearer a sense of calmness and centeredness, and to promote faith, loyalty, truth and purity. They can especially enhance personal integrity. They have been ground up and used in cosmetics and as a medicine to treat heart and stomach conditions. Some cultures swear by pearls as an aphrodisiac! Pearls are nature’s perfect gift, suitable for all ages, and elegantly worn with everything from jeans to an evening dress.
Sterling Silver is 92.5% pure silver with some base metal, usually copper, added for strength. As the purity of the silver decreases, the issue of tarnishing increases because other metals in the alloy may react over time with oxygen in the air. To help keep its shine, keep it in an airtight plastic bag when you are not wearing it. To clean it gently swipe it across with a polishing cloth.
Semi-precious stones and crystals have been an integral part of the human history, representing wealth and power as well as being ascribed qualities both genuine and superstitious.
